Japanese go to pray to the shrine at the

 

beginning of the year.
We call it "Hatsumoude".

 

This is because you can to thank for one year at the shrine, and to pray for peace and safe New Year.
At the shrine in the most venerable shrine in Japan, Ise Shrine is present, even now beyond the time of 2000.

 

The Ise Shrine is the general term which summarized the naiguu,the geguu and 125 another shrines.

 

the Naiguu is a shrine worshiping Sun Goddess(Amaterasu Oomikami)the God of the imperial ancestors.
the Gekuu is a shrine dedicated to Toyouke, who were greeted as a god in charge of the meals Sun Goddess.

 

It is revered as a guardian angel of all industries, including food, clothing and shelter as the home of Japan, the Japanese are going to pray.
